It is clear that Dr. Mark Dekutoski has made his mark as a to-notch researcher, willing to teach what he knows to the new generation of orthopedic specialists. He has conducted copious amounts of extensive research into the orthopedic surgery area. With at least 60 articles and studies in peer-reviewed articles so far, he has played a key role in moving his profession forward. A few of his papers have won awards in recent years, with his paper, “The AOSpine North America Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy Study: Perioperative complication rates associated with surgical treatment based on a prospective multicenter study of 302 patients” winning Best Paper Award 1st Place from AOSPINE International. These days, Dr. Mark Dekutoski, MD now works with the CORE Institute in Arizona, where he specializes in the spine. More particularly, his research focus includes minimally-invasive spine treatments for adults and children with deformity-scoliosis, kyphosis, spine tumors, spondylolisthesis and disc degeneration. The CORE Institute sought him out, and they were anxious for him to join them because, in addition to his considerable research prowess, they were impressed with his unique ability to treat patients with compassion.
